From my experience, North Jersey Public Adjusters, Inc. has to be the best public insurance adjuster company in the world, and Richard Perez has to rank as the very best individual public insurance adjuster in the world – by a big margin. Virtually from the time of the fire at my home in Tenafly, New Jersey until my family and I were fully moved back into the house after it had been completely rebuilt and restored a year later, North Jersey Public Adjusters and Rich were there for us when needed, arranging for, guiding and coordinating the efforts of movers, builders, insurance companies, storage companies, appraisers, and workmen of all varieties. The company’s and Rich’s knowledge about and experience at handling such calamities was beyond calculable value to us, particularly at the beginning when we were all still in a state of shock and had no inkling of what to do next to get started in recovering from the trauma.
In addition to his and his company’s extensive knowledge and experience at handling such disasters, Rich brought a great deal of personal warmth and empathy to his task of helping us cope. An incident to illustrate: on the day of the fire, shortly after the fire trucks had departed and all that remained was the frame of the house, and piles of partially burned debris thrown from the windows, Rich noticed I was particularly distraught hunting through the debris for what he soon learned was a pile of over 85 student reports that I had just completed grading when the fire started. After learning why I thought it was so urgent to try to find them, he pitched right in and spent the next several hours going through pile after pile of debris, while I was forced to attend to other pressing matters. He found them! My students were able to get their graded, though often charred, reports back the next day in plenty of time to help them prepare for their mid-term exam two days later. Another incident to illustrate: Rich and his wife invited my wife and me to visit their home which had recently been extensively remodeled to learn about new remodeling technology and about furniture and related stores that had impressed them with extra service and particularly attractive merchandise. What we learned at the Perez home had a significant impact on the many restoration and refurnishing decisions we had to make as our home was rebuilt.
Rich and his company handled all of the relationships with the various adjusters from the insurance companies extremely well. I do not remember any arguments over any of our claims for reimbursement. Instead, there was calm and thoughtful discussion, bolstered with frequent meetings with insurance company representatives at my home as it was being rebuilt to, as Rich put it to me, “make sure everybody sees exactly what we are talking about in making these claims.” All our claims were promptly and accurately processed by North Jersey Insurance Adjusters, Inc. All our claims were then reimbursed by the insurance companies, without delay.
In sum, based on my experience, there is absolutely no question in my mind that North Jersey Insurance Adjusters, Inc. is the best insurance adjusters company in the world, and that Rich Perez is the very best individual insurance adjuster in the world – by a really big margin.
